Typical appetizer which consists of spicy salad prepared with ham, chicken, herring or cod fish marinated with vegetables, particularly onions, carrots, and habanero pepper (recipes coming soon)

    Again, Scotch Bonnet peppers are used in Haïti, not habanero. They are both very hot, but have different flavors. Because I could not find habanero in a certain area of the States, I tried using habanero for Haïtian dishes, and it was simply not the same thing.

      You may be right but when I lived in the States I used habanero more often than not. Not sure scotch bonnet is as widely available though.
