This recipe calls for Haitian chocolate balls, most commonly known as chokola peyi. Feel free to substitute it for your favorite dark chocolate.
Also note that chocolate truffles are typically shaped like balls. But since I wanted to layer mine, I flattened those balls.
To make the sour orange custard, you can simply substitute sour orange juice for any lemon custard found online. The recipe I used is from Plated Cravings.

I have used a sour orange custard for my version of this recipe. Feel free to make it your own by adding a your favorite fruit flavored custard.
