Aransò (Salted Smoked Herring) Mousse

This mousse is probably one of the quickest recipes on this blog. You can whip a batch in just a few minutes. Serve it alongside your favorite crackers or chips. They also pair perfectly with our papitas.

  • 4-5 smoked salted herring filet
  • 1 block Cream Cheese
  • 15 cl Whipping Cream
  • Bell pepper
  • Pepper
  • Onion
  • Piment bouc optional


  1. In a food processor, mix the herring with some whipping cream, bell pepper, onion and piment bouc until they are all chopped into a creamy mixture
  2. Add the previous mix to the softened cream cheese. Adjust the seasoning to taste
  3. Serve with papita, crackers or fresh bread.

Recipe Notes

Feel free to adjust the suggested proportions to taste. Keep in mind that the more cream you add the creamier your mousse will be.
