Il y a de ces fruits dont je questionne l\u2019existence. Non pas parce que je ne les aime pas, mais plut\u00f4t parce que je les trouve tout simplement…\u00e9tranges. Comme ces tamarillos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avec leur couleur rouge vif, ces fruits peuvent vous sembler attrayants.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pourtant, je les trouve bizarres, et ce, depuis notre premi\u00e8re rencontre il y a de nombreuses ann\u00e9es. Ils figurent parmi ces nombreux fruits que j\u2019ai d\u00e9couvert \u00e0 un jeune \u00e2ge durant nos randonn\u00e9es avec mon papa, mes oncles et tantes. Comme je le mentionne dans mon article d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux m\u00fbres<\/a>, \u00e0 l\u2019aller, ces escapades de trois heures se terminaient toujours par une d\u00e9gustation fruit\u00e9e \u00e0 notre arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Kenscoff.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Mon p\u00e8re et ma tante avaient particuli\u00e8rement un palais curieux qui les incita \u00e0 go\u00fbter puis adopter les tamarillos. De tout le groupe, je ne pense pas me tromper si je dis qu\u2019ils furent les seuls \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier ce fruit bizarre, ou que mon p\u00e8re, fut l\u2019unique \u00e0 chercher \u00e0 se procurer une plantule. C\u2019est cet arbuste qui, aujourd\u2019hui, des ann\u00e9es plus tard, nous offre ses nombreux fruits. Nous sommes, cependant, peu nombreux \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier sa g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et ce, tout simplement, parce que le tamarillo est un fruit bizarre. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

En fait, les tamarillos, je ne les comprends pas. L\u2019arbuste, aussi maigrichon soit-il, a des feuilles \u00e9normes et porte fi\u00e8rement plusieurs fruits \u00e0 la fois ; fruits qui rappellent les tomates sans appartenir \u00e0 la m\u00eame famille. De forme allong\u00e9e, ils ont la chair tant\u00f4t rouge vif tant\u00f4t orang\u00e9e et cachent de nombreux petits grains noirs comestibles qui leur apportent du croquant. Ils sont sucr\u00e9s et l\u00e9g\u00e8rement parfum\u00e9s sans pour autant avoir un go\u00fbt accentu\u00e9. Rien d\u2019impressionnant, \u00e0 mon humble avis.<\/p>\n\n\n

Nul besoin de vous dire que ce jus \u00e9pais et rose, lorsque m\u00e9lang\u00e9 au lait, ne m\u2019attirait pas du tout. \u00a0 Mais, pour r\u00e9diger cet article, il a bien fallu que je donne \u00e0 cet arbuste la chance de se prouver.\u00a0 Il y a quelques semaines, j\u2019en ai go\u00fbt\u00e9 les fruits que j\u2019ai m\u00eame utilis\u00e9s pour une salsa fa\u00e7on salsa de tomates. \u00c9tonnamment le produit final\u00a0 ne me d\u00e9gouta pas. Je dois tout de m\u00eame vous dire que, tout comme le fruit, elle n\u2019avait rien de bien m\u00e9morable. Je ne dirai cependant plus que je n\u2019aime pas ces fruits.
