Elle habitait une maison perch\u00e9e au haut d\u2019une montagne escarp\u00e9e que nous consid\u00e9rions alors comme \u00e9tant \u00ab notre \u00bb montagne \u00e0 nous seuls. Il faut dire qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque elle n\u2019avait pas de voisins. Sa propri\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tait entour\u00e9e de terrains que cultivaient les abitan de la zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ces heures pass\u00e9es chez elles \u00e9taient pleines de d\u00e9couvertes pour nous.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout comme nos <a href=\"http:\/\/tchakayiti.com\/home\/fr\/fraises-des-bois-mures-rezen\/\">escapades dans les hauteurs de Kenscoff<\/a> nous permettaient de d\u00e9couvrir de nouveaux fruits, nos journ\u00e9es chez ma grand-m\u00e8re nous mettaient en contact direct avec M\u00e8re Nature. Bien que nous n\u2019\u00e9tions pas autoris\u00e9es \u00e0 trop nous \u00e9loigner de la maison, nous gravissions souvent le morne avoisinant et assistions de pr\u00e8s ou de loin \u00e0 de nombreuses r\u00e9coltes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le bel arbre illustr\u00e9 ci-dessus et ses fleurs jaunes et rouges agr\u00e9ables \u00e0 regarder poussait sur le terrain avoisinant. Il se retrouvait le long du sentier battu que nous empruntions souvent lors de nos courtes marches. Nous \u00e9tions attir\u00e9s par ses gousses de pois connues sous le nom de pois congo; gousses auxquelles il nous \u00e9tait interdit de toucher avant la r\u00e9colte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je crois que c\u2019est la seule interdiction que nous ne violions pas. Elle arrivait \u00e0 ouvrir chaque gousse et \u00e0 en extraire les grains en un tour de main sous nos regards impressionn\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elle s\u2019arr\u00eatait parfois pour nous montrer sa technique. Nous observions alors ses moindres faits et gestes avec encore plus d\u2019attention. Aujourd\u2019hui encore je la revois gousse en main ouvrant habilement la coque \u00e0 l\u2019aide de son pouce avec une telle facilit\u00e9 que nous pensions pouvoir l\u2019imiter sans difficult\u00e9s, ce qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas forc\u00e9ment le cas. Certes, nous arrivions \u00e0 faire sortir les grains des coques mais jamais comme elle. Nos petits doigts ne maitrisaient pas vraiment sa technique et nous abandonnions nos tentatives \u00e0 tous les coups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">En fait, les grains de pois congo ne nous int\u00e9ressaient pas trop.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Notre r\u00eave \u00e9tait surtout d\u2019arriver \u00e0 les \u00e9cosser aussi vite qu\u2019elle sans avoir \u00e0 d\u00e9chirer la gousse. Nous nous tenions \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019elle durant tout le processus et respirions l\u2019agr\u00e9able odeur de pois frais qui se r\u00e9pandait dans l\u2019air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces petits moments, je ne les oublierai pas.
