Street style Haitian beignets
This recipe is the closest one to the beignets you will find on the streets. It calls for water instead of milk, and does not require eggs. I promise they're still smooth and tasty.

Ingredients
2-3
very ripe bananas
1
cup
of flour
1/3
cup
of sugar
1/4
tsp
of baking soda
1
cup
of water
Pinch
of salt
Vanilla Essence
to taste
Powdered nutmeg
to taste
Powdered cinnamon
to taste
Oil for frying
Instructions
Mash the bananas
Add the flour, baking soda, salt, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar
Incorporate the water
Mix well
Drop the batter by the spoonful in sizzling hot oil
Fry until they turn golden
Sprinkle generously with sugar and serve
Notes
You could technically use milk, but then again, should you?
